THE BUSINESS NEED
Start with the work.
A local work service has two customers: the person posting a job and the person looking for one. Both need relevant information at the right moment, without repeatedly checking the app or chasing updates.
Work platforms & automation
Make local work easier to find and easier to coordinate.
A mobile-first prototype for a short-term work project in Helsinki, connecting people who need help with people ready to do the work.
THE BUSINESS NEED
A local work service has two customers: the person posting a job and the person looking for one. Both need relevant information at the right moment, without repeatedly checking the app or chasing updates.
MY APPROACH
I designed WorkBite as an autonomous service, with a custom backend architecture connecting listings, user records, communication and job status. The mobile prototype shows the local map and the experience around finding an opportunity.
HOW THE WORK CONNECTS
INSIDE THE PROJECT
A mobile map puts nearby opportunities into their location and context.
Event-based communication connects opportunity alerts, confirmations, reminders and job updates.
Messages respond to user preferences and actions, keeping communication relevant to each side.
The architecture joins listings, people, communication and job status in one operational model.
Tracking and analysis cover how people browse, respond and make contact.
Reporting helps identify engagement and drop-off, so the service can improve for customers and workers.
AUTOMATION & HUMAN JUDGEMENT
The service design puts routine coordination into automated workflows. Users retain the decisions that need their input, while the operator has a connected view of activity across the service.
PROJECT SCOPE
WorkBite is a prototype and automation architecture. It demonstrates the mobile experience and the workflow design behind the short-term work service.
