A PRACTICAL DECISION GUIDE

Who maintains an automation after launch?

Agree ownership, access, documentation and failure handling before launch. A working process should remain understandable when its original builder is not beside the user.

Name the owner

Who reads an error, approves a change and checks that the work completed? The business needs someone who understands the process and can accept the result. Technical maintenance and business responsibility belong together.

Access and data ownership

Agree which accounts run the services, who owns the information and how access is removed. Permissions should match the necessary task. Review export and recovery before real use.

Handover includes practice

Documentation should explain triggers, inputs, outputs, exceptions and human actions. Show the user ordinary work and a failure. Hoid ja Hool’s simple operator view and manager overview are part of how the system is actually run.

Plan for changes

Software, APIs and models can change. Define change review, rechecking important examples and a way to continue manually when needed. Also establish how cooperation ends and which files, access rights and knowledge are handed over.
